Cow-Calf Herd
Big Time Cattle Company is a cow calf operation located in Eastern NC. We focus on raising high quality Angus, Semi-Angus, Senepol, and Charolais Cross feeder cattle.
The cattle are pasture raised, grass fed, and all calves have the ability to be in any buyers all-natural program. The majority of our cows begin to calve in early September and conclude by the end of November; the calves are weaned in May the following year. Our herds have the ability to graze between coastal bermuda and millet pastures in the summer months and over seed rye fields during the winter months.
Beef Delivered to You
Big Time Cattle Company also specializes in all natural, pasture raised beef. Through our Farm to Fork program our product will soon be shipped right to your door!! The cattle are registered Senepol Angus crossed cattle focused on adaptation to the environment with short/no hair cattle.
We want to provide the highest quality possible when it comes to the tenderness and marbling in our beef. The cattle are genetically selected to focus on these qualities as they are of key importance to our business model.
We enjoy going to the pasture and spending time with our cows. We hope that one day we are able to invite you out to visit! We value the opportunity to provide educational experiences for our communities on our cattle to include how they are raised and what the process is to achieve the end result.
Our Favorite Success Story: Hope
Hope is our favorite success story. She was born about a month premature and did not have a good outlook through her first few days. After we had her out of the woods, she needed to be started on her new bottle feeding routine. Hope spent 3 months in Ryan and Lauryn’s back yard, and we didn’t think that they were ever going to be able to give her up. I mean, they had her sleeping on the back porch.
We were quick to realize that Hope was different than the others. The longer she stayed in the back yard, the more like a pet she became. We decided that she was going to have to find a different home than going back out to the pasture.
Hope was donated to a wonderful place called The Pasture at Mercer Farm. The owners, Jeoff and Nicole Hopkins, run an equine therapy facility where they promote healing for people through their animals. Hope was going to be the perfect addition to their therapeutic services!!
Today Hope lives at The Pasture at Mercer Farm and helps with the therapy provided there. We still visit her often and get to enjoy feeding her treats, cuddling with her, and playing with her favorite tire! She is an amazing little cow that has a bright future ahead of her!
